Standing Out in the Crowd: Dr. Katzen's Dedicated Support and Expertise -
I was a 3rd time applicant to medical school, and I didn't realize how much of a difference having a great advisor could make. MedSchoolCoach really made all the difference the 3rd time - was accepted to 3 MD schools, something I never thought would have been possible! I can't say enough great things about my advisors, who constantly checked in and encouraged me. Would not hesitate for a second, just wish I had used them the first time!
I was a 3rd time applicant to medical school… -
I had an amazing experience with MedSchoolCoach. Coming off a failed application cycle, I felt very lost and confused about how to navigate another one. Then, I met Dr. Nelson, and my outlook completely changed. He has single-handedly been one of the best mentors I have ever met. Always going above and beyond, inspiring me along the way, and genuinely wanting to see me achieve my dream. I know for a fact that my journey into medical school wouldn't be the same without him. I can't recommend him enough!
Thank you, Dr. Nelson! -
MedSchoolCoach was amazing. Everyone at the company is very helpful and wants to see their clients succeed. My personal advisor was very responsive and helped me in every stage of the process. I truly feel that if I had not used MedSchoolCoach, I would not have gotten into my top choice for medical school. I sent out 12 secondaries, interviewed at 5 schools, and was accepted to 4 and waitlisted at the other.
Best decision I made while applying!! -
Dr. Blair Nelson from MedSchoolCoach helped guide my brother and me into getting into our dream MD programs. I highly recommend his service as he made himself readily available throughout this process and offered great insight into the medical school application journey.
Fantastic Experience -
“Dr. Lee is extremely nice and down to earth. She guided my son very patiently for almost 2 years and helped him get into BS/MD program. My son has a full ride for undergrad. This entire process was daunting. But Dr. Lee and Rob Rivas helped us through the extremely stressful application and interview process. We couldn't have done this without their help and guidance. We feel blessed to have found Dr. Lee and MedSchoolCoach. Thanks for everything!"Dr. Lee is Amazing

“I honestly cannot speak highly enough about the experience of working with Michelle, Susan, Darlene, and Ken. Every one of them is extremely knowledgeable, warm, supportive, and excellent at their jobs. Without their guidance and support, I do not know if I would be sitting here writing a review about both of my children achieving their lifelong dreams of going to medical school. I know what a daunting process applying to medical school is, and having a team behind you like MedSchoolCoach can really make the difference between receiving acceptance letters versus denials. If you have a child applying to medical school, I cannot recommend a better service.”MedSchoolCoach from a Parent’s Perspective

From brainstorming my personal statement to refining my supplementals, both Dr. Lee and Rob consistently provided thorough feedback in a short amount of time, ensuring my responses articulated my ideas in the best manner possible. Additionally, Dr. Lee was invaluable in prepping for my BS/MD interviews, giving great feedback on how to optimize my responses while also providing practice through several mock interviews. "Dr. Mandalia provided a plethora of good ideas to work into my responses that will help me strengthen my overall narrative and presentation. He noted my strengths and weaknesses and gave me many different ways to address my weaknesses. He is clearly incredibly knowledgeable about what interview committees look for and was able to elaborate on these points in great detail."Super helpful feedback!

“Great mock interview (MMI) with Dr. Harvey Katzen! This practice helped me become more confident talking through difficult ethical decisions and helped me understand what interviewers are looking for. In the debrief, Dr. Katzen gave great advice about how to answer each type of question and gave me pointers on how to generally approach MMI questions. I feel much more prepared and am so grateful for the support and expertise of advisors like Dr. Katzen!”Boosted My Confidence for MMI

“I had a wonderful experience with David, who helped me with my residency application. He was available every step of the way and fielded all of my questions in an extremely timely manner (often within the hour). His edits to my personal statement and CV portions were thoughtful and informed. He also remained available throughout the interview and ranking process. He helped me with interview prep in addition to weighing in on my rank order list and how to best organize my thoughts on each program. I never thought I could conduct real research as a high school student, but this mentorship program made it possible. My mentor walked me through every step, from choosing a topic to structuring my final paper. I even presented my findings at a youth research symposium! The skills I gained—critical thinking, data analysis, and academic writing—will help me long after high school.Conducting Research as a High School Student

The Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) is the osteopathic equivalent to the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), which allopathic students take. Osteopathic students are in a unique position when it comes time to take your board exams. While they must complete the COMLEX-USA Levels 1, 2, and 3 to receive licensure as a DO, osteopathic students also have the opportunity to take the USMLE as well.
Since every student is different and begins tutoring at varying starting points, predicting score increases is challenging. However, all of our students see significant improvement after tutoring. Regardless of when you come to MedSchoolCoach, we will help you get a better score. In fact, we believe in this so strongly that we have a score increase guarantee.
The COMLEX-USA Level 3 is typically taken during the first year of residency and is a 2-day exam that assesses independent practice readiness. It consists of approximately 420 multiple-choice questions and 26 computer-based clinical decision-making (CDM) cases. Content spans all major disciplines—including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN, psychiatry, emergency medicine, public health, and osteopathic principles/OMM—with attention to continuity of care, patient safety, and health systems. Scoring is Pass/Fail, confirming the ability to provide safe and effective osteopathic medical care without supervision.
The COMLEX-USA Level 2-CE is usually taken during the fourth year of medical school and is a 9-hour exam consisting of 352 multiple-choice questions, divided into 8 sections of 44 questions each with scheduled breaks after every two sections. The exam emphasizes clinical decision-making and problem-solving, testing the application of medical knowledge in patient presentations and scenarios. Content areas include internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, emergency medicine, and osteopathic principles/OMM, with integration of preventive medicine, ethics, and health systems. Like Level 1, scoring is Pass/Fail, assessing readiness for residency training.
