The MedSchoolCoach Story: Becoming a Leader in Medical Education.

After successfully graduating from Columbia University and entering the fray of the medical school application system, Dr. Sahil Mehta quickly realized what admissions officers were looking for in an applicant. While great grades and MCAT scores were important, medical school admissions committees knew that this did not make a great physician. They wanted students who had a story, were diversified, could look at a patient and say, “it’s going to be okay,” and would become healers.

The MedSchoolCoach Story

Dr. Mehta started by helping a few friends improve their applications. He advised them on the classes to take, how to write better essays, and how to show passion for the profession during interviews.

Before long, word of Dr. Mehta’s success with students got out and MedSchoolCoach expanded, adding Physician Advisors to the team. Dr. Mehta required new Physician Advisors to meet specific criteria: they had to be actual physicians, they had to have admissions experience, and they had to love being coaches.

From the start, MedSchoolCoach focused on students rather than profits. Although demand was high, we limited the number of students we helped every year. We chose to not worry about profits, focusing, instead, on providing exceptional service to every student who came our way.

MedSchoolCoach grew rapidly. By investing in our students, they shared their success with their friends, who then told their friends.

Before long, we had helped hundreds of students gain acceptance into medical school, which soon became a few thousand. Former students kept in touch, eventually asking for help with their entire medical school journey. So, we created MCAT and USMLE/COMLEX products that focused on the same principles as our admissions advising: continuing our legacy of providing great service.

Today, we are the only company that can support a student from applying to pre-med and BS/MD programs through match day, providing all the help they would need.

With Physician Advisors who have expertise in BS/MD programs to those who are former residency program directors, we use our knowledge to help you gain acceptance into the best program for you.
